As a big suprise for all of us, the TeamSpeak Team has released an updated Teamspeak 2 client binary for Windows today. This version is, even though fully functional, for BETA testing. A final release - including a new installer - will follow soon.
In our opinion, the most important change to this version is the new confirmation window, that appears when granting SA permissions. Hopefully, this will prevent the use of the well known "Right-click on my name and press E" trick in the future. In addition, the developers have fixed a small bug where the client softare could crash when someone uses specific codes in his nicknme or other texts.
Please check our download area or the official TeamSpeak forums for a detailed list of changes.

A new version of the TeamSpeak 2 server for Linux has been released today. The new version finally provides a highly requested security feature for the servers web administration interface and deals with random crashes, that occured on serverstop commands in previous BETA versions. Detailed information about the changes can be found in the official TeamSpeak forums. Due to security and liability reasons we recommend all administrators to update their TeamSpeak servers with the new binary.
The new release can be found in our download area or on the official TeamSpeak website. Related Links: Download TeamSpeak 2 Server 2.0.23.2 BETA for Linux Original thread on GoTeamSpeak.com |

Some of you may have noticed the forums closed for a few minutes earlier this morning. This was in order to upgrade the forum software. We are now running vBulletin 3.6.0, which is the latest and most stable version. Please let us know if you experience any problems. |

After nearly two months of silence, the TeamSpeak Team revealed two new features for the next major release of their software, known as TeamSpeak 3. The developers have already used their Developer Blog in the past, to offer us a much clearer view of their work.
The text messaging system of TeamSpeak 3 will be an entirely different, and much improved experience compared to TeamSpeak 2. All your messages may contain plain text but you are also able to use BB code tags to emphasize certain words or phrases by making them (for example) bold or italic.
Another new feature will allow the user to connect to multiple TeamSpeak 3 servers from within one client, similar to tabbed-browsing. This was one of the many highly requested features for TeamSpeak 3.
There's a lot more than this going on behind the scenes, so stay tuned for future Developer Blog updates.

The Planet TeamSpeak team is proud to announce the first free TeamSpeak Wiki. This project was founded to create a place where all TeamSpeak users can get information and help on the functionality and use of the TeamSpeak client and server applications.
Our contributors have started to publish the first content, but there is still much work to do. Did you already write FAQs or HOWTO pages related to TeamSpeak or do you plan to do so? Why not post them in the wiki and make them available to many TeamSpeak users in the world. If you are interested to help just leave us a message in the forum. We appreciate your help.
We want to thank all contributors and aspecially the people who sponsored us the domains wiki.teamspeak-einstieg.de and wiki.teamspeak.info for this project.

Yesterday, a new section has been published on the official TeamSpeak website. The so-called Third Party Resources area allows anyone who has created an application or script that he would like to share with the TeamSpeak community to submit information about his work. The only thing you'll need to do is register in the official forums on GoTeamSpeak.com. The new section provides a simple comment system, a hit counter and a version history for every item submitted. After a member of the TeamSpeak Team has checked your item and made sure that you have provided all the information they need, it will be published as soon as possible. A new version of TeamSpeaker - a third party application for TeamSpeak 2 written by Snowman - has been released today. The new release contains several new features and bugfixes, including a totally redesigned user interface, tooltips and more detailed settings. The project is still a "work in progress", so any constructive feedback will be welcomed. Please note that you must uninstall older versions of TeamSpeaker before you can use this version. Some of you might have noticed the new TeamSpeak block on the right. What you see there is an example of our new TeamSpeak 2 Status Module we've just released for Joomla! - a free, open source content management system written in PHP. A you can see, the module displays the status of your TeamSpeak 2 server including the number of connected users, created channels, the servers uptime and the servers location. Most of the settings can be adjusted from the Joomla! Administration page. We hope you'll find this useful and look forward to your feedback. The latest version can be found in our download area.
