A new version of the TeamSpeak 2 server is now available for download. This release deals with a security issue which could enable an attacker with a valid
serveradmin account to read files from your harddisk through the servers
built-in web administration interface.
Because 2.0.23.22 is a security release, it is important that you upgrade your TeamSpeak 2 servers as soon as possible.
A full package will be released in a few days if no more bugs are found.
The new release can be found in our download area or on the official TeamSpeak website.

The TeamSpeak development team has published a new developer release of the TeamSpeak 2 server. The new version 2.0.23.20 fixes a SQL injection bug which only affects servers running on MySQL databases. This issue has been reported yesterday in the official TeamSpeak forums.
If your TeamSpeak server is running on a MySQL database, you should update immediately. Otherwise, an update is not necessary since the native SQLite database is not vulnerable to this bug.
Downloads are available from our download area or the official TeamSpeak website.

After more than three years and a long series of developer releases, a new stable version of the TeamSpeak 2 server has been released today. The developers have prepared new distribution packages for the Windows and Linux versions of yesterdays developer release 2.0.23.19 which is no longer tagged as BETA.
If you're already running a TeamSpeak server with version 2.0.23.19, an update is not necessary. Otherwise, you should update your installation as quickly as possible since the new release contains more than 20 security fixes and stability improvements.
Upgrading from any version of the TeamSpeak 2 server on Linux to 2.0.23.19, simply involves
overwriting your currently installed files with the files from the new package. Windows users can use the new installer to get their servers up to date.
Downloads are available from our download area or the official TeamSpeak website.

Today, a critical security issue has been discovered in the TeamSpeak 2 server affecting all versions up to 2.0.23.17. The bug could enable an attacker to read files from the filesystem of a host through the TCP query interface. The TeamSpeak development team reacted immediately and a security patch has been distributed. The new release carries version number 2.0.23.19.
We strongly recommend that all administrators update their TeamSpeak servers to the latest version as soon as possible.

Today, german IT publisher heise online reported about a recently discovered remote DoS vulnerability in the latest versions of the TeamSpeak 2 server software. A missing length check for incoming post data in the embedded webserver can lead to allocation of high amounts of RAM (>1GB) and high consumption of CPU time. Therefore an attacker can easily compromise the machine on which the server is running.
This vulnerability was first posted on the well-known exploit database milw0rm 5 days ago. This is the second known unfixed critical bug in the TeamSpeak 2 server software.
If you're running version 2.0.23.15 or a previous release of the TeamSpeak 2 server, we advise you to use a firewall to disable access to the TCP query and HTTP ports from untrusted sources to ensure the security of your server machine.
Update - 25 July 2007
This issue has now been resolved with version 2.0.23.16 of the TeamSpeak 2 server.
