Written by Sven 'ScP' Paulsen on Wednesday, 06 August 2008

On Friday, August 8th, the Planet TeamSpeak web server will be offline for approximately 3 hours starting at 15:00 PM CEST. This is needed for some critical updates and to set up a database failover scenario. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, and will endeavor to keep this downtime as short as possible. This also affects the Connection Test and Backup Utility applications.

Just in case you're worried about not being able to access our files, all the downloads are hosted on download.planetteamspeak.com which is another physical server.

Thank you for your patience during our maintenance work.

Update - 09 August 2008

We've successfully completed our maintenance activities, the Planet TeamSpeak website is now back online. Please report any bugs or unusual behaviour in our forums or contact us via email.

TeamSpeak Systems and Guild Software announced Integration of TeamSpeak 3 within Vendetta Online
Published in TeamSpeak
Written by Sven 'ScP' Paulsen on Thursday, 03 July 2008

On July 1st, 2008, the TeamSpeak Systems GmbH and Guild Software, Inc - independent game developer and creator of multiplayer virtual environments - announced the integration of TeamSpeak 3 software within Vendetta Online - a 3D space combat MMO for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. This is the first roll-out for this kind of integration and ideal production test-case for the TS developers, as Vendetta Online is one of a small number of true multi-platform games. Newcomers are welcome to visit the official Vendetta Online website and sign up for a free trial account.

"Our goal was to rapidly integrate TeamSpeak across all of our supported platforms: Windows, Linux/32bit, Linux/64bit, and universal Mac OS X. TeamSpeak delivered brilliantly on all counts." said John Bergman, CEO of Guild Software, Inc. By using the TeamSpeak 3 SDK, Vendetta Online became the first launched MMO with integrated voice chat across their game clients on each platform.

In addition to this joint effort, the TeamSpeak team is currently working on other integration projects ranging from military simulators to financial institutions, as well as other online games and virtual worlds.

Triton CI & Associates provides new Online Services
Published in TeamSpeak
Written by Sven 'ScP' Paulsen on Friday, 04 April 2008

As of today, Triton CI & Associates - the official sales & licensing partner of TeamSpeak - provides two new pages on their website. The first page called Licensed NPOs contains a list of all properly licensed Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs), which have been granted a special license that allows them to host more than 10 TeamSpeak servers at a time and between 1000 to 5000 slots total.

Probably the most exciting feature is the new Licensed IP Validation page. If you suspect that a TeamSpeak 2 server is being hosted illegally, you can use the script  to verify if an IP address is properly licensed. Due to security and performance reasons, you are limited to 10 searches every 5 minutes.

Update - 09 April 2007

Today, the guys from Triton CI & Associates have set up a new ticket system. From now on, anyone sending an email to This email address is being protected. or This email address is being protected. should receive an auto-response containing an assigned ticket ID. You can also submit a new ticket using Triton's new Support Center website.

Official TeamSpeak 3 FAQ Opened
Published in TeamSpeak
Written by Sven 'ScP' Paulsen on Sunday, 30 March 2008

We're happy to announce that the first official TS3 FAQ has been opened on the official TeamSpeak website. Besides the usual questions about TS3's release date and voice quality, the FAQ section features some interesting factsabout backward compatibility and migration from TeamSpeak 2 to TeamSpeak 3.

The most important information is TeamSpeak 3 will in no way be compatible to TeamSpeak 2 beacuse the complete core and the protocol itself have been completely re-engineered and the TeamSpeak 3 server introduces a new database structure. The developers intend to provide migration tools to convert basic information such as a servers name, the welcome message, channel data and password settings.

Currently the FAQ section contains 8 entries. If you're interested in reading all of them, please check the official TeamSpeak website.

ImageSo far, it's been an exciting weekend for the TeamSpeak community in Germany. After yesterday's interview in the buffed.de podcast, TeamSpeak had a second appearance in the media. Today, GIGA introduced several voice communication software solutions in the latest episode of GIGA eSports. Our good friend ginger|HFD was invited to the show to talk with the host Michael 'riCo' Bister about Ventrilo, Shockvoice, Mumble and last but not least TeamSpeak 2. In addition, the host had a short telephone interview with one of the TeamSpeak 3 developers - Peter Kirk.

In case you've missed the show or just want to watch it over and over again, you'll find a high quality version in GIGA's VoD (Video on Demand) section. We've also uploaded an 11 minute-long video of the presentation to our download server. The link can be found in our forums.

Seasons Greetings and a Preview for 2008
Published in Planet TeamSpeak
Written by Sven 'ScP' Paulsen on Monday, 24 December 2007

Another year has almost passed. To all our community members and visitors, both old and new, we extend our best wishes for the holidays, and a warm invitation to join us again in 2008. In addition, we are happy to announce our plans for the new year.

It's needless to say that we constantly work hard to improve our existing applications such as the TS Admin-Client, the TS2PerlMod, the TeamSpeak 2 Anti-Flood Daemon and the TeamSpeak 2 Webmanager (also known as T2Web). Beside all of this, we have many ideas for new projects. Probably the most exiting project is code named Optimus - a fully featured web-based management solution for TeamSpeak servers which will hopefully set some new standards. We'll publish a limited set of features and a full roadmap soon.

Currently, we are working on a fresh new design for our website which will be up in early 2008. As you can see, exciting things are on the Planet TeamSpeak horizon.

Enjoy the holidays and stay tuned for future updates!
